Rowupdating not called

Diagnostics; public partial class _Default : System. Within my custom control Init event I was examining the Page. Controls collection and taking each control matching my criteria and wrapping it in an Update Panel. I tried to get the Custom Control to react to the On Pre Init event of the page so I could fix things in the way you had suggested. I suspect the fact that I have hid it working at all from within a Custom control ws just luck and really I was probably having lots of issues happening that I didn't even see! I have to make gridview as a templet which contain some 20 column and 5 rows etc.

) to manipulate the Page and Form control collections in this way?

For example a Sql Data Source, which is automatically added to your Web Form if you drag-n-drop your way around Visual Studio 2005.

The problem is, I’d very much like to do so, if ASP. But I can’t set a Data Source property or anything on the Sql Data Source!!! I probably have to read the cells on the Grid View of the selected row, find the controls, get the values from those and insert those into my Data Set.

I am using a SQLData Source to populate my gridview in ASP. When I hit Edit, the textboxes appear and I am able to edit my values. I am using a SQLData Source to populate my gridview in ASP. When I hit Update, the changes are not saved, and there is no error message. When I hit Update, the changes are not saved, and there is no error message. Then the page posts back, the text boxes go back to being labels and the new values are lost, and the Row Updating code never fires. Yes, I did put the breakpoint at the Row Updating line (and not in the function).

  1. Jul 2, 2014. According to the Event Life Cycle, when any Control Event is fired here Grid RowUpdating, it first goes to Page Load. As it is coming to Page Load, so it calls the Bind method again and re-binds the Grid. Now, it goes to RowUpdating Event, but the updated values are lost because Grid is already reset in.

  3. I was not able to locate that field because it seems as if I was using AutoGenerateEditButton="True" to add my edit buttons to the gridview. If you using any function for retrievingBinding the grid view from database and calling it in page_Load event then it may cause this issue. try to call this function in.
